Project worth EUR 22 million for better integration of renewable energy sources.

The best possible integration of renewable energy sources in a wider geographic area is the goal of a major international project currently taking place in Southeast Europe, it was highlighted in Sarajevo today at a panel of the conference dedicated to the electric energy sector.

The project includes eight transmission companies from Slovenia to Macedonia, Bulgaria, Greece and Romania, aiming to see possibilities of cooperation between transmission companies in this region within the four-year demonstration and research program.

'The project lasts four years, the budget is 22 million euros and this is one of the largest projects in Europe currently in this sector.

It encompassed a significant number of transmission networks or transmission system operators in the region that will try to improve not only the operation of these networks, but also to provide an example of how international cooperation at wider regional level can contribute to a better functioning transmission...
